When I went to peculier pub I wasn't expecting much. It is on a street in the village that is packed with bars. Peculier pub does not stand out much, and resembles a cave pit in that it is mostly downstairs. However, the place is actually surprisingly good. It has a massive beer selection that is very reasonably priced. Tons of belgian beer if you like that. There are usually a lot of people, but it's never packed to the brim.
